Lightroom Tip - Fix High CPU Usage

Lightroom 1.3 has fixed this problem. I run Lightroom on a Mac Pro under MacOSX 10.5.2 (Leopard). I have turned back on the Automatically Write to XMP option with no significant increase in cpu cycles.

I recently had a problem where Lightroom was constantly consuming more than 80% of the CPU cycles for long periods of time. Disk drive activity was also very high.

The fix was to turn off the Automatically Write to XMP option in the dialog box under Catalog Settings.

This solved the high CPU usage and disk thrashing.
