Using collections in Lightroom modules

Lightroom 2 allows you to use Collections and Smart Collections in all the Modules except for Develop. You could only use Collections in the Library Module in Lightroom 1.

Now you can easily call up new Collections of images without having to switch back and forth between Lightrooms’ modules.

This is very useful when using the Web Module together with Smart Collections as you can have your Web Gallery auto-update with the latest images that match the Smart Collection filter.

This kind of functionality has been available for some time in Aperture. In the early days of Lightroom it was something that kept me switching back and forth between Aperture and Lightroom.

Not any more ... Lightroom is still my tool of choice.
